2012–13 CRS President’s Welcome Letter
In my new role as President, I welcome all of you to the 2012-2013 season of the Chicago Radiological Society (CRS). Program director Doctor Joy Sclamberg, Resident Fellow Section (RFS) program director Doctor Sean Zivin and Radiation Oncology Committee chair Doctor Jonathan Strauss have been busy this summer and fall in creating an excellent educational program, highlighted by a popular resident scientific poster session in February 2013. In addition, our April meeting will be a Centennial celebration that Doctor Ruth Ramsey has organized. This will truly be a wonderful celebration and I encourage everyone to make sure to attend.
Please review the preliminary program for the year and watch the CRS web site for further details. It is a privilege for me to take the helm of this distinguished society not only from my esteemed immediate predecessor, Doctor Jennifer Lim-Dunham, but also from four generations of leadership that extend back to the founding of the society in 1913, nearly one hundred years ago. The society has benefited by having remarkable leaders and volunteers, both now and throughout its history.
I want to personally thank all the wonderful residents and attendings who give their time and dedication to the CRS with the ultimate goal of providing better care for our patients. These actions are selfless and do not go unnoticed.
The CRS continues to be committed to its purpose of advancing education, service and advocacy in the radiological sciences. I invite you to join us in 2013 to celebrate the centennial of the CRS.
William Small, Jr., MD, FACR
